GRATITUDE: It heals ones heart!

It is astonishing at times to see and find how little things, occurrences, people around us, and almost everything that we experience turns us beyond ourselves and makes us into what we are. But how often do we express our gratitude to our life for giving us what we have, to make us what we are?
We often talk of the not so good parts of our life, but ignore the brighter side of the coin. But amazingly it is true to say that how small happy chances in our life give us immense pleasure, to be cherished forever. Its aptly said “sharing happiness doubles the joy”, and of course being grateful to everyone, and everything that brought to you through these wonderful times of learning,  and growing expands it to the utmost. From everything that we have, to everything that we give, the cycle moves on and the basic law of mutuality and symbiosis prevails.
It is appropriately said that a mere “thank you” has become nothing more than a formality now a days. Gratitude must come from ones heart, because with it comes the serene emotion of blessing, and wanting good luck for the one who helped you, in times-good or bad. Thanking someone in its truest senses is respecting the identity and act of the world for you.
This thankfulness must begin with the core of our very existence. As G.K. Chesterton said,
“When we were children we were grateful to those who filled our stockings at Christmas time.  Why are we not grateful to God for filling our stockings with legs?” Gratitude can help you remember that along with the darkness of every ending comes the dawn of a new beginning.  Gratitude can smooth the sharp edges of any painful experience and usher in a more gentle transition that contributes to your personal growth.  Finally, gratitude can help you shed the burden of unhealthy situations in order to clear a space for something better to arrive in your life. Gratitude heals ones Heart.
Frankly speaking its doesn’t matter how small or big, a thing or a person, an occurrence or memory, or the whole world can help you to wriggle out of the cobwebbed scenario of life beyond a new junction of integrity of your being.
My very own 4 year old little brother, Suryaansh, brought about in my life, a change, a rhythm of happiness, and the sunshine of growing to make me what I am. It’s wonderful to say, how over the years he has made me grow up from a little child, to a mature being. How lovely and delicate he was, when I saw him for the first time. Amazingly, as he grew, it developed in me a more responsible person. The way he says, “Bhaiya” really stirs in me the sense of growing. The way he looks forward for my coming back from coaching, and how he waits the whole day for me, to share one little chocolate that he got from his school: really heals me and make me feel the importance of my existence. Moreover I am very grateful to him, to have given me an opportunity to see myself budding from a new born baby to what I am- Yes, to see my Mom taking care of him, all day and night brought in front of me my childhood days, and germinated in me a new sensitivity towards relationships. This sense of belongingness removed all sorts of loneness from my living and gifted me a new perspective of viewing life- from the eyes of a little child, with pure heart and mind. And surely I am more than just thankful to God, to have sent a miracle, a color of sheer happiness in my life. And incredibly to say, this cycle of life continues with gratitude. In my last year of schooling, and his first, I really feel that if he wouldn’t have been in my life, I would have surely been crushed under the moribund tide of time, and the extremity.
“With this I take the opportunity to express my warmest regards and heartfelt gratitude to all the people whom I ever encountered during these 17 years of my life, to make me into what I am-just myself”
